The city of Rossville, or once called Poplar Springs, was established in 1905. When you come to visit our little place on the map you will see the history in our buildings, businesses, and citizens. Lookout Self Storage has made Rossville, GA our home and we are proud to be a part of this vibrant community. Check out why we love our Rossville, GA neighborhood below.
In the early 1800’s Rossville, Ga was populated by Chickamaugas, or Cherokee Indians. John Ross a traveling Englishman was captured by the tribe and was sentenced to hang. Ross was spared by a respected British official, John McDonald. This friendship between the native Americans and British travelers is part of the history that makes our town special. Later, the town saw strife and war but these officials stuck by the Native Americans. Many of the land and historical markers were ravaged during the wars, they have since been rebuilt. Rossville was prosperous as an industrial town that focused on farming and textiles. They made a name for themselves with textiles but suffered greatly in the early 1900’s when transportation became the big industry. Since the turn of the century Rossville, GA has learned from the their forefathers and has continue to build their future.
